Shield Homes (Pty) Ltd is the holding company of IBANGA Real Estate which began homebuilding activity in 1988 in Port Elizabeth. In 1999 the Group opened a branch in Durban. In 2006 the Group entered the Wellness Industry by opening the Shambala Wellness Spa in Port Elizabeth. The Group has built 17 sectional title complexes in Port Elizabeth totalling 892 units, with a 64 unit complex currently underway. Completed Durban projects include 8 sectional title complexes totalling 203 units, and a sectional title project of 18 units in Reservoir Hills that has just commenced being built, and is being sold off plan to interested purchasers. In addition, the Group has built 1500 individual homes for owners on individual sites in the various areas.
The current focus of the group is on acquisition of land for installation of services and construction of homes, sectional title development and affordable housing.
The directors are Ian Christie in Port Elizabeth and Belinda Schoeman in Pinetown, Durban.
